Today, Vincent Kompany is turning 34, but it seems like the great Manchester City player was far longer than that.
He’s rightly considered as one of the most influential players for City in the modern period.
The 34-year-old is seen as the most successful player in the club’s recent distinguished history,
winning four Premier League championship victories, two FA Cups and four League Cups.
Kompany struggled with injuries at the end of its City career.
but it was appropriate that last year it was him who scored the crucial goal against Leicester,
to keep City’s noses ahead of Liverpool in the championship run-in.
This was his last big achievement in man city but it was definitely not his only achievement.
In 2019, Kompany won two more league titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup under Guardiola and the Catalan said: “When Vincent was healthy,he played such an important role in our team – sadly often that couldn’t happen – but whenever he played, he did it with confidence, enthusiasm and desire.
“We’re going to miss him. I’m going to miss him quite a lot.
Of course, in the next step of his career, I wish him the very best, but he’s an amazing member of this football club and will stay that way forever.
The foundations which Kompany helped lay would ensure its long-lasting as Kompany’s 11-year love affair with the club came to an end last year.
