Edin Terzic nominated as the new head coach of Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund’s open head coach position has been filled from within.

Edin Terzic, 39, will take over as first-team coach for the coming season after leading BVB to the DFB-Pokal last season as an interim coach and most recently as the Black & Yellows’ technical director.

“We had numerous lengthy meetings with Edin Terzic over the weekend and are confident that this personnel choice is the best for BVB.” Edin is familiar with our club, the surroundings, a large part of the team, and the areas we need to improve in order to provide successful football to our supporters. The 2022/23 season marks a new beginning in sports. “With tremendous excitement and passion, we shall pursue this together,” stated the soon-to-be sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

“By now, many people are probably aware of the special value BVB bears in my life,” Edin Terzic said. As a result, I’d want to convey my heartfelt gratitude to Aki Watzke, Michael Zorc, and Sebastian Kehl for their unwavering faith in me and for entrusting me with this enormous responsibility. Every day, we will do everything we can to make the team and the club successful.”

Terzic will sign a contract with the club that would keep him there until June 30, 2025.
