Kenneth Omeruo and Moses Simon, both Super Eagles, have each played a century of matches with CD Leganes and Nantes.

Omeruo joined Leganes on loan from Chelsea in the Premier League for the 2018/19 season. After a strong showing, the club opted to make him a permanent signing at the end of the season-long loan.

When Leganes were still in the top division before being demoted the next season, he made his debut in a defeat to Atletico Madrid in 2019.

Omeruo has made 18 appearances for the club this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the Segunda division.

Omeruo wrote on social media in response to his 100th match for his club:

“It gives me great pleasure to have played my 100th game for CD Leganes. I’d want to thank the club, the fans, and my teammates for supporting me over my four years with this fantastic organization, and especially my family for their unwavering prayers and support.”

Leganes are currently ranked 12th in Spain’s 22-team division two.

This season, Moses had a relatively successful campaign with Nantes. The winger, like Omeruo, had joined the French club on loan from Levante in Spain for the 2019/20 season before being recruited on a permanent basis after the campaign.

In a cameo appearance, the attacker made his first appearance for Nantes in the Ligue 1 victory over Amiens.

With a 1-0 victory over Nice at the Stade de France earlier this month, he helped the club win the French Cup for the first time in 22 years.

It was the only trophy available. This season, the Yellow House won and ended ninth in the league.

In three seasons with the club, Simon has scored 21 goals and added 22 assists.

To commemorate the occasion, the club honored the Nigerian with an award.

The victory was a “huge honor” for the 26-year-old.

“To have played 100 games with Nantes is such a tremendous honor.” Thank you all for your love and support, coaches, technical staff, players, and fans. It was an incredible season, and I’m honored to have been a part of this great club’s history. He posted on Instagram, “Allez Nantes.”
