Emmanuel Michael, a star with the Golden Eaglets, has shared his secrets for scoring free kicks.
Michael scored twice from free kicks in the Eaglets’ semifinal matchup against Cote d’Ivoire on Tuesday, giving them a 2-1 lead at the break.
In order to secure a 3-1 victory and qualification for the U-17 AFCON in Algeria the following year, Abdullahi Idris added a third goal in the second half.
Three goals have now been scored by Michael, all off of free throws.
He also won Man of the Match for the third time in a row as a result of his outstanding performance.
The Simoiben Futball Academy product also spoke about how he developed into a free-kick expert after the victory over Cote d’Ivoire.
He revealed on Brila FM that he had been preparing for a while and that once he had it, he was already thinking of scoring.
He continued by expressing gratitude to Nigerians and his colleagues for his recent success.
“So I’m extremely thrilled and I want to thank all the players and the Nigerian supporters, I appreciate it,” she said.
