Mohamed Salah, the winger and captain for the Pharaohs of Egypt, has made hints that he might go to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a spectator to experience the first major sporting event held in an Arab nation.

After losing 3-1 on penalties to the Teranga Lions of Senegal in the second leg of their playoff series on March 29 at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in Senegal, Egypt was unable to advance to the World Cup in Qatar.

Due to an own goal by Hamdi Fathi, the regular match ended 1-0 in Senegal’s favor and 1-1 overall.

Saliou Ciss’ own goal gave Egypt a 1-0 victory in the first leg on March 25 at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

Due to Senegal’s victory, Egypt was unable to advance to its fourth FIFA World Cup after appearances in 1934, 1990, and 2018. Salah, however, is thrilled that an Arab country is hosting the World Cup for the first time, and he is considering going to Qatar to take part in it personally.

The Liverpool forward expressed his joy at the 2022 FIFA World Cup being hosted for the first time by an Arab nation in an interview with BeIN Sports.
