It’s that time of the year when transfer speculation is rife and acquisitions are hogging the limelight, as the Premier League’s big-spending sides assess their various targets in an attempt to surpass their rivals and achieve success in the new season.
Make no mistake about it, the Premier League is widely regarded as being the most competitive top-flight division on the planet. As such, it’s entirely understandable if fans of specific clubs are becoming a tad concerned about a lack of transfer activity from their beloved side. For fans, the off-season can be torturous at times, especially given the variety of mixed reports out there these days. While YouTube videos and popular options like the Football Rules casino game keep many passionate supporters occupied, it’s signings that fans really crave. Thankfully, a number of talented stars have made the switch to the biggest league on the planet. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the most notable signings of the summer window so far.

Erling Haaland – Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City (£51 million)

Kicking things off with probably the biggest deal of the summer transfer window to date, Erling Haaland’s move from Borussia Dortmund to the blue side of Manchester was mooted for a while, but it was officially confirmed recently . After being linked to the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea, the Norwegian star opted for his father’s former club as he aims to progress further under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. With 62 league goals in 67 games in Germany, one of the most talented strikers in the world is expected to produce the goods at Manchester City.
Richarlison – Everton to Tottenham (£60 million)
One of Tottenham’s major issues over the years has been their evident reliance on both Harry Kane and Son Heung-min . Should either player struggle with injuries during the course of a typical season, Spurs haven’t been left with viable alternatives for a good while now. With Antonio Conte aiming to improve both the standards and the quality of his squad, Richarlison ’s move from Everton makes a lot of sense. Spurs have made a number of shrewd moves in the summer window and the Brazilian appears to be another one.

Darwin Nunez – Benfica to Liverpool (£85 million)

While Manchester City fans have been salivating at the prospect of Kevin De Bruyne supplying Erling Haaland , Liverpool supporters are feeling optimistic after securing the signing of Benfica goal-getter, Darwin Nunez. He might have cost a lot, but the Uruguayan possesses the talent needed to thrive in the Premier League. Whether or not he’ll soften the blow of losing Sadio Mane remains to be seen, but the arrival of a young and hungry striker who scored 26 goals in 28 league matches for Benfica last season is understandably exciting many Reds fans.

Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City to Arsenal (£45 million)

Given Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City, Gabriel Jesus was deemed surplus to requirements at the Citizens. As a result of this, Arsenal immediately moved for the Brazilian striker as the Gunners snapped up for the former Palmeiras prodigy for £45 million. Whether or not he has the capability to lead the Arsenal line remains to be seen, but his acquisition is certainly a signal of intent from both Mikel Arteta and the clubs’ hierarchy.
Other notable additions include Raheem Sterling (Manchester City to Chelsea), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds to Manchester City), Sven Botman (Lille to Newcastle), Fabio Vieira (Porto to Arsenal), Diego Carlos (Sevilla to Aston Villa), Luis Sinisterra (Feyenoord to Leeds), and Kalidou Koulibaly ( Napoli to Chelsea).
