Former Zambian international Kalusha Bwalya has discussed how Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich chose to represent Germany, the country of his mother, rather than Nigeria, the country of his father.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Germany’s 1-1 draw with Spain in their second World Cup match on Sunday night, Musiala stood out.<\/p>\n

However, Bwalya praised him as a gifted footballer with rapid pace, much like France sensation Kylian Mbappe, in a conversation with SuperSport.<\/p>\n

“His mother is German and his father is Nigerian. travelled to England when he was a very small child.<\/p>\n

He then made the decision to represent Germany, much to the pleasure of the Germans.<\/p>\n

Playing style<\/strong><\/p>\n

Musiala is a versatile player who can play anywhere in the midfield, including the wings. Musiala’s debut with FC Bayern Munich was under the direction of Hansi Flick, who said of him: “He has a wonderful vision and feeling for finding the ideal spots. He can play well between the lines and has a lot of confidence with the ball.<\/p>\n

Early life<\/strong><\/p>\n

Musiala was born in Stuttgart, Germany, to a German mother with Polish ancestry and a Nigerian Yoruba father. He spent his early years in Fulda up to the age of seven, when his family relocated to England, where he spent the remainder of his youth. He attended the Corpus Christi School in New Malden for his elementary education. He attended Croydon’s Whitgift School for his secondary education. He spent the last few years of his boyhood at the Chelsea academy.<\/p>\n
