Leicester City defeated Nottingham Forest 4-0 on Monday night to earn their first win in the Premier League this year. Wilfred Ndidi played while Kelechi Iheanacho sat the match out.

For struggling Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi also played; he was replaced by Emmanuel Dennis in the 62nd minute.

Dennis has played in five Premier League games for Forest, but he has yet to sign up.

Ndidi left the game before the second half began, and Boubakary Soumare took his place.

Leicester had lost their previous six league games coming into the match on Monday, while Forest had lost their previous four.

James Maddison gave Leicester the lead in the 25th minute, just seconds after Awoniyi had hit the post for Forest.

After Jesse Lingard misfired on a clearance, the ball fell to Maddison, whose shot was deflected past Dean Henderson by Scott McKenna.

And two minutes later, Harvey Barnes scored goal number two after cutting in from the left and bending a shot past Henderson and into the far corner.

Maddison’s curled free-kick beat Forest goalkeeper Henderson, who was idly standing in goal, to give Leicester their third goal ten minutes before halftime.

Patson Daka, a forward from Zambia who came on to replace Vardy shortly after the hour mark, scored Leicester’s fourth goal in the 73rd minute with a deft flick to seal the outcome.

Forest drops to last place with four points while Leicester rises from last place to 19th.
