Henry Onyekuru, who is injured, has been replaced in the Nigerian team for the international friendly matchup against the Algerian Desert Foxes by Emmanuel Dennis.
Onyekuru was included in Nigeria’s 25-man roster for the match on Saturday morning by head coach Jose Peseiro.
However, the 25-year-old suffered an injury when his team Adana Demirspor defeated Antalyaspor 3-0 later in the day.
At halftime, he was replaced by fellow countryman David Akintola.
Dennis will now take his place in the team, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) tweeted.
Emmanuel Dennis will start for Algeria in place of the injured Henry Onyekuru, according to a tweet from the NFF’s official Twitter account.
This summer, Dennis moved from Watford to Nottingham Forest.
He participated in Friday night’s 3-2 loss to Fulham for Nottingham Forest.
On Tuesday, September 27, the Super Eagles will play Algeria at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran.
