According to reports, Bournemouth and Chelsea have begun discussing a transfer for defender Axel Disasi.
Since completing a £38.5 million transfer from Monaco in 2023, the Frenchman has not been able to make a name for himself in Chelsea’s first squad.
Disasi, who made ten competitive appearances during his brief time with Unai Emery’s team, was sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second part of the season after dropping down the hierarchy.
Even though Disasi is back at Stamford Bridge, Enzo Maresca wants to let go of a number of players before the summer transfer window opens.
Chelsea in negotiations about Disasi’s move
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims that before the market closes on September 1, Bournemouth is prepared to give Disasi a path out of Stamford Bridge.
According to the update, Bournemouth and Chelsea are negotiating a loan deal with a buyout option at the end of the current campaign.
In an effort to persuade Disasi to relocate to the south coast, the Cherries have also begun talks with the player’s team.
Although they are now talking about “different formulas” with Bournemouth, Ben Jacobs reports that Chelsea would like to offload Disasi in a permanent move.
Why do Bournemouth want to sign Disasi?
Due to the sales of Illia Zabarnyi to Paris Saint-Germain and Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, Bournemouth has lost two important centre backs this summer.
After agreeing to pay Lille £30.3 million for the central defender’s first contract and an additional £4.3 million in add-ons, they recently confirmed the arrival of Bafode Diakite.
But before the transfer window closes, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola still wants to bolster his team with another centre-back.
After a challenging stint at Chelsea, where he ultimately failed to generate the kind of form he displayed at Monaco, Iraola might think he is the guy to put Disasi’s career back on track.
