Xavi has informed Barcelona defender Gerard Pique that he is no longer a part of the club’s plans.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Xavi believes that the best option for all parties is for the centre-back to depart the club.
Before his recent high-profile breakup with Shakira amid cheating rumors, the Spanish international was told he was no longer wanted at the club owing to unethical conduct off the field and his declining physical condition.
The former Barcelona and Spain captain addressed his former teammates personally, stating that Pique will not be involved in his future plans.

Xavi, who played 312 games with Pique, wants to create his squad around a defense he can trust, and that is something Pique, according to the Barcelona star, cannot provide.
Pique is one of Barcelona’s most prominent players. He has made almost 600 games for the Blaugrana and has eight La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, and seven Copa del Rey trophies to his name.
He has helped Spain win Euro 2012 and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, so his success is not limited to club level.
