Before the summer transfer window ends, Gianluigi Donnarumma, the custodian for Paris Saint-Germain, may yet sign with Manchester United.

Donnarumma will depart Luis Enrique’s team before the current market ends since Lucas Chevalier has surpassed him as PSG’s number one.

Manchester City is reportedly first in line for the 26-year-old’s talents, and he is reportedly eager to join the Premier League.

An official bid for Donnarumma would be made if Ederson left Man City, since the Brazilian is now being strongly connected to the goal.

However, Man United is also thinking about acquiring a new custodian because, in their two seasons with the team, Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana have failed to impress.

Manchester United’still in the race’ for Donnarumma

Due to a hamstring injury, Onana was unable to play in Man United’s preseason games, instead Bayindir was selected to start in goal against Arsenal on Sunday.

Due to a mistake made by Bayindir that allowed Arsenal to score the game’s lone goal, head coach Ruben Amorim now has a crucial choice to make for this weekend’s match against Fulham.

It has been said that the Red Devils are still contemplating Donnarumma, even if recent sources indicate that a trade is quite doubtful. This is because the team will need to move a custodian in order to bring one in this summer.

“In order to have any chance of placing in t

he top six, Manchester United needs a new custodian. On his X account, former football player Jan Age Fjortoft, who currently works in the media, wrote, “Donnarumma is a world-class keeper, and I understand there’s still a chance he could end up in Manchester….on the red side of the city.”

But United’s problem is that before that can happen, they’ll have to let rid of at least one goalie.

Should Manchester United sign Donnarumma?

Man United’s performance against Arsenal in their Premier League opener on Sunday was outstanding, and it suggests that the team will have a far better season.

But there’s no denying that the Red Devils are in dire need of a truly elite custodian, and with Donnarumma available this summer, the team needs to take action.

Before the transfer window ends, either Onana or Bayindir might depart Old Trafford, theoretically creating room for Donnarumma to enter. The Italian is the dominant custodian the 20-time English champions need in goal.
