Gianluigi Buffon, a Juventus icon, thinks that if Angel Di Maria joined Juventus, he would be just as excellent as Diego Maradona.
After seven seasons with the French Ligue 1 champions, Di Maria left Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expired this summer.
Buffon remarked in a statement to Gazzetta dello Sport that Di Maria is currently comparable to Maradona in Serie A. Is that clear?
“Considering the environment in which they play, footballers must be valued. Serie A is less technically sophisticated today, and Angel is so skilled.

He makes quick decisions in front of goal and has little trouble dribbling past defenders. He goes up and down the field and is skilled at providing assists.
Buffon continued, “I’m 44, but I still play.” Age is irrelevant. Much more crucial than resolve are passion, drive, and motivation. Di Maria is prepared to do so if he signs with Juventus.
“While I was playing for PSG, Di Maria was equal to Neymar, a young Kylian Mbappe, and Marco Verratti.
He was playing alongside Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos in 2014 when he won the Decima in Madrid.
He could play as a winger, an attacking midfielder, or even a mezzala, but he was always a step back.
“Whoever signs him strikes a deal, and I hope it’s Juventus. Football needs champions, and we’re talking about one here.
