Why Falconets Lost to Netherlands in the 2022 U-20 World Championship – Danjuma

At the ongoing 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Falconets head coach Chris Danjuma claimed that his team’s propensity for scoring in front of goal prevented them from reaching the semifinal.

The ladies of Danjuma were eliminated from the competition after losing to the Netherlands 2-0.

The West Africans were expected to win the match at Estadio Alajuela Morera Soto, but they were unable to repeat their success from the group stage.

Although the Falconets controlled the game, their poor shooting let them down.

For the Dutch, Zera Hulswit and Ziva Henry hit their marks.

“This is football,” Danjuma said at a press conference, “when your opponent takes advantage of your error and they punish you for that.”

“I believe that we made a few early mistakes for which we were penalized, and despite having opportunities, we failed to take advantage of them.

“Playing football is all about taking risks. However, it is unfortunate because no one wants to enter the game expecting to lose. Even though we wanted to, it didn’t work out.
