U-17 AFCON: Ugbade Invites 48 Golden Eaglets Players To Camp

After calling 48 players to camp in Nigeria’s federal capital, head coach Nduka Ugbade’s U17 team, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, will start their preparations for this year’s Africa U17 Cup of Nations on Monday.

The invitees, most of whom were part of the team that triumphed at the WAFU B U17 Championship in Cape Coast, Ghana, last summer, have been instructed to report to Abuja on Friday, January 20, 2023.

The Africa U17 Cup of Nations will be held in Algeria from the 8th to the 30th of April, with the top four teams qualifying to represent Africa in the FIFA U17 World Cup finals, which will be held in Peru from the 10th to the 2nd of December.

Nigeria has won the FIFA U17 World Cup five times, with victories in China in 1985, Japan in 1993, Korea Republic in 2007, the United Arab Emirates in 2013, and Chile in 2015.
