Ajax’s Schreuder criticizes Man United’s pursuit of Antony

Regarding the ongoing controversy over Antony’s future, Alfred Schreuder has pointedly brought up the fact that his Ajax team competes in the Champions League while Manchester United does not.

After a dismal start to the league season, United, under the direction of Erik ten Hag, Antony’s former manager at Ajax, have identified the Brazilian as a key target to bolster their options.

The Brazilian wants to sign with the team.

The Dutch team rejected the club’s offer of nearly £70 million last week, with Ajax reportedly holding out for closer to their valuation of £84 million.

After seeing his team defeat Sparta Rotterdam away from home, Schreuder expressed his hope that Antony would stay with the team after this match.

“I’m assuming the club won’t try to sell him.” These days, insane amounts of money are being spent. But if we sell another player, I would not consider that acceptable.

We are competing in the Champions League. He said, “I don’t believe Manchester United is playing Champions League football.

After hearing that Ajax had rejected United’s approach, Antony last week opted not to train.

On a Saturday interview with the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Antony declined to guarantee that he would stay at Ajax. The player seems to be adamant that joining United would be best for him and his career.

No, he replied, “to be perfectly honest, I can’t [promise to stay]. What I can say is that I want to reach an agreement with my loved ones, business associates, and Ajax that is advantageous to everyone.

On Monday night, United hosts Liverpool in an attempt to earn their first victory under Ten Hag.
