Fernando Diniz has the support of former Brazil striker Romario to lead Selecao back to the top of the world football rankings.
In July 2023, Dinz was named the national team’s temporary head coach by the Brazil Football Federation, with a one-year tenure.
After Tite resigned from his position following Brazil’s elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Ramon Menezes assumed leadership of the five-time world champions.
Romario commended Diniz in an interview with Panorama Esportivo, which tuttomercatoweb.com cited, stating he does his best.
Romario declared, “Diniz is the best coach we have.”
He lacks the training resources that he could commit to a club while playing for the national team. He gives it his best shot; in the last two games, he has drawn and lost, but nobody wins all the time. I also think he is a great addition to the Brazilian team.
Dinz will share the position with Fluminense, a top Brazilian team.
In order to assist the South Americans qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 2026, the 49-year-old will be hoping.
Brazil has seven points from four games, good for third place in the Conmebol rankings right now.
On November 17, Diniz’s team will take on Colombia in their upcoming match.
