In Monday’s Premier League match, Emmanuel Dennis scored Nottingham Forest’s first goal as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Aston Villa.

Prior to the match against Villa, Dennis had failed to make an impression in his first five appearances for newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper’s team did not utilise the services of Dennis’ Nigerian teammate Taiwo Awoniyi.

With a looping header from a free kick, the former Club Brugge and Watford striker gave Forest the lead after 15 minutes.

However, only six minutes after Dennis gave Forest the lead, Villa equalized due to a long range shot from Ashley Young.

Samuel Surridge replaced Dennis in the 71st minute.

With the draw against Villa, Forest’s run of five straight losses came to an end, and they are now ranked 19th in the league.
