Ten Hag Blasts Manchester United Players for Poor Performance Against Villa

After his team’s 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag criticized his players’ unsatisfactory performance.

Leon Bailey and Lucas Digne scored early goals to put United on the back foot. Before halftime, Luke Shaw’s deflected goal gave United some optimism, but soon after the break, Jacob Ramsey restored Villa’s two-goal lead.

Only two weeks after removing Cristiano Ronaldo from the team, Ten Hag gave him the captain’s armband.

The move did not help United, who suffered their first league loss in six games and remain outside the top four.

“We lost our battles because we didn’t defend according to the regulations. We would have won this game if the players had performed their duties with complete heart and desire.

“Players are not machines, and I have a lot of experience in football. Even though it’s sometimes the way things are, it’s not appropriate. Every game demands that we be prepared and not give the game away so easy.
