Barcelona president reacts to Lewandowski links, Dembele’s future

Barcelona president Joan Laporta concedes that bringing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to the club is ‘not easy,’ citing the team’s financial difficulties.

Lewandowski is expected to depart Bayern this summer, with Barcelona being mentioned as a possible destination. When asked about a possible Lewandowski signing, Larpota appeared to rule out the possibility.

“A deal for Lewandowski?” It’s not simple; remember how difficult our financial position was? “Let Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany do their job,” he said on Catalunya Radio’s Tot costa broadcast.

According to 90min, Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi has made offers to Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham.

Laporta revealed that the Catalans had offered Ousmane Dembele a new contract, but he is ‘tempted’ by alternative choices.

He explained, “We made our fresh agreement proposal and we’re waiting for his response next week.”

Dembele was extensively linked with a move away during the winter transfer window, but he chose to stay at Nou Camp, where he has 11 assists in his last 13 La Liga outings to help Barcelona secure a Champions League berth.
