Liverpool manager Klopp ‘overwhelmed’ with his team.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was full of praise after his team’s 2-1 victory over Southampton on Tuesday night, which kept the club’s title hopes alive.

Klopp made nine changes to the team that defeated Chelsea in the FA Cup final over the weekend, leaving out the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah.

“Unbelievable, [being] 1-0 down makes it even more special,” Klopp said, according to Sky Sports.

“Is there anything else I can say about this group that I haven’t already said?” What the boys did was both overwhelming and touching.”

“It is really a crime that Takumi Minamino doesn’t play more often, that Oxlade-Chamberlain isn’t in the squad very often, that Harvey [Elliott] didn’t play for a long time, that Curtis [Jones] didn’t play for a long time, and all these boys deliver and deliver and deliver.” It’s amazing.”

“Making nine changes and achieving this level of performance is absolutely outstanding.”

A Special group

“I’ve never had such a group,” said  Klopp.

“I make the lineup and players aren’t involved – I was upset as a player because I didn’t like it.” To play football, I was a footballer.”

“But because we win so often, there aren’t many things to argue about.” There are two options for dealing with it: give up or play your role within the group.”

“This group constantly pushes and lifts each other.” Tonight is extra special because it all came together thanks to the boys.”

Only one point separates the two teams, with Liverpool on 89 and Manchester City on 90.

City will play Aston Villa, while Liverpool will play Wolverhampton.
