Frederico has ‘not given up’ on signing Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo

Frederico Varandas, the president of Sporting, has “not given up” on trying to capture Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo before the transfer season ends.

This is according to Correio da Manh, which reports that the head of the Primeira Liga thinks the Red Devils are “receptive” to sending the forward out on loan.

Manchester United is rumored to be willing to cover nearly all of Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary. The president is aware that he will need to invest money, but that can be countered by the substantial sums of money that his side could generate through ticket sales and marketing.

Varandas has spoken with Jorge Mendes and learned that there is a spot available for the 37-year-old to rejoin the team. The player wants to leave Old Trafford for a team in the Champions League, and the Lions can provide him with that opportunity this year.

Varandas has “run into the opposition” from Rben Amorim, according to Correio da Manh. The president’s suggestion to bring Ronaldo is opposed by the manager. In actuality, Amorim is “very opposed.”

Amorim acknowledges the qualities of the Portugal international but thinks the star’s addition could have “severe ramifications for the rest of the group.” He also thinks Ronaldo might have a “negative impact” in the locker room if things don’t go according to plan.

In their first four games, Sporting only earned one victory despite scoring six goals and giving up eight. Amorim was once more questioned about the Ronaldo connections following his defeat to Chavas on Saturday.

O Jogo described him as saying, “He is a Manchester United player and I think he will continue to be,” in response.
