Official: Nwakaeme Signs a Two-Year Contract with Saudi Club Al-Fayha

Al-Fayha, a team in the Saudi Arabia Professional League, has announced the signing of forward Anthony Nwakaeme to a two-year deal.

Nwakaeme received a free transfer to Al-Fayha.

The contract signing ceremony was held in the venerable Jabal Munikh Castle, one of Al Majmaah Governorate’s most notable landmarks, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Abanmi, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

After leaving Trabzonspor, the champions of the Turkish Super Lig, in June, the 33-year-old has been looking for a new team.

The Nigerian and the club were unable to come to terms on a new contract.

Before settling on a move to Saudi Arabia, Nwakaeme was linked with Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce as well as English Sky Bet Championship team, Hull City.

The striker played for Trabzonspor for four years, winning the Turkish Super Lig championship in his final campaign there.

During his tenure at the club, he also twice won the Turkish Super Cup and once the Turkish Cup.
