Eduardo Camavinga, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has admitted that Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have taught him many valuable lessons.

Currently in his second season in Spain, Camavinga told GQ that it was a chance to join the Real Madrid squad.

“From (Luka) Modric and (Toni) Kroos, both for what they do on the field and for what they do off the field, I learned a lot. These are things I do as well, and they are advantageous for me. They continue to work after training.

Since I was a young child, playing for Real has been a dream of mine. As the best club in the world, they came forward to consider me, and I had no doubts.

‘(Carlo) Ancelotti?’ He is among the best in the world and has achieved great success by taking home numerous championships from various nations. With players, even younger ones, he is someone who converses frequently. He explained what he wanted from me and gave me some homework when I got there.

Whether I start as a starter or come off the bench, he instills a lot of confidence in me.

International career

Camavinga attained French nationality on November 5th, 2019. Six days later, after Matteo Guendouzi was called up to the senior team, he was chosen to play for France’s under-21 team in matches against Georgia and Switzerland.

Paul Pogba’s absence from France’s senior squad due to a positive COVID-19 test on August 27, 2020, led to Camavinga’s call-up. Since René Gérard, who was only 17 years, nine months, and 17 days old in 1932, no player has been called up to the French senior team younger than he was as a result of this process. His UEFA Nations League debut came on September 8 when he came on to replace N’Golo Kanté midway through Croatia’s 4-2 victory. As a result, he played for the French national team at the age of 17 years, 9 months, and 29 days, making him the youngest player to do so since Maurice Gastiger in 1914.
