Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United player, claims that Gareth Southgate’s inability to make a speedy change cost England their World Cup departure in 2022.

Ferdinand, however, feels that Southgate ‘came up short’ strategically against France and that the manager should have substituted fresh players before Giroud’s late goal.
